REVERIES OF A QUEEN

The regal face etched
On the virgin whites
The ancient warrior
In all his might,
He looked at me
With his timeless eyes
My world compressed
Into his hesitant smile.
His love was majestic
Aeons of ancient feelings
His legacy,
The cycle of loss, oft repeating.
Millennia of traditions
Of hearts wrenched from within
When duty calls, love sacrificed
At the altar of fertile sins.
I look at what I lost to eras spent
In the renewing thaws of spring
Maybe the bleak white winter snows
Will bring back my warrior king.
